When it comes to prestigious Toronto addresses, few can match those found in The Bridle Path. Now, in what is reportedly the first time in more than two decades, residents such as Celine Dion and Drake are set to see a new condo building emerge on the northeast corner of Bayview Avenue and Post Road.
Over on The Bridle Path, one can typically find extravagant estates, but the five-storey 2 Post Road project is taking a different approach to luxury, says Jordan Morassutti, one of the co-founders of North Drive. With an average floor space of about 2,000 square feet, its 62 single-level suites “are designed to cater to affluent individuals who are downsizing from family homes, empty nesters, and those seeking an easy transition to condominium living.”
With ceiling heights of up to 12 feet, spacious exterior balconies and large windows, each suite feels more like an upscale house and less like a condo, Morassutti says. “Years of living in The Bridle Path have shown that many of our buyers are now looking for the convenience of a one-level lifestyle without sacrificing space, luxury finishes or unique design.”
In order to achieve this, the suites offer opportunities for customization that go further than surface-level changes. Purchasers are requested to collaborate with North Drive's design team to choose custom finishes, millwork, flooring, and even kitchen layouts. “This isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach,” Morassutti says. “We believe luxury involves personal selection, and 2 Post Road gives our buyers the freedom to make their home a reflection of themselves.”
This approach is resonating with the Bridle Path buyer profile, which includes a growing number of affluent Baby Boomers and Gen X downsizers. For these individuals, Morassutti says, it's less about downsizing and more about "right-sizing" – that is, optimising space to meet changing lifestyle needs.
All suites, some exceeding 3,300 square feet, feature solid-core doors, wide-plank hardwood flooring, gas fireplaces, chef-inspired kitchens with central islands and walk-in pantries, and high-end appliances from Wolf and Sub-Zero. purchasers can select from upscale countertop materials such as marble, Silestone or Dekton, chosen by leading designers. Every residence also comes with two assigned parking spots and a private storage unit. Garden homes include expansive outdoor living areas and ground-level backyards. For those looking for an even more spacious option, it's possible to combine units.

The residences at 2 Post Road go beyond your typical home with "hotel-style" living, featuring high-end amenities like valet service, a fitness centre, a virtual golf simulator, a dedicated pickleball court, a private dining room with kitchen, and expansive outdoor spaces with views of the picturesque Bridle Path.
It's a fitting time for this project to be launched, said Morassutti. There's currently a lot of pent-up demand in the area. Neighbouring luxury condos like One Post Road and The Chedington are doing well in terms of occupancy, but sometimes that means quickly filling units with less-than-rare sales tactics. On the other hand, 2 Post Road offers something much-rarer in this market: brand-new inventory and first-class design options that really give owners a say in the customization of their homes.
On the design side of things, project architect Richard Wengle has paid tribute to the surrounding estates while bringing a fresh spin to high-end condominium living. The building "draws from classic design principles but puts its own modern spin on them," Wengle notes. "Each and every detail, from its enclosed balconies to its proportioned windows, was designed to blend in with its surroundings and withstand the passage of time."
Although the project's launch coincides with a sluggish condominium market, North Drive remains optimistic. "This project is shielded from broader market volatilities," says Morassutti. "Our buyers usually pay with cash, with many coming from larger single-family homes where market fluctuations have had little effect."
